Product Engineer - Datacenter

Role Summary

Support launch and production ramp of NVIDIA AI Supercomputing platforms (HGX/DGX) by defining manufacturing processes, system-level tests, and production optimizations for GPU boards.

Work with NPI teams, contract manufacturers, quality and customer-facing teams to meet cost, throughput, yield and quality targets.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” typically 3+ years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include planning manufacturing processes, defining test requirements, and improving production line performance.

  • Collaborate with NPI and cross-functional teams to enable smooth production ramps at global manufacturing sites.
  • Recommend and ensure compliance with DFx requirements affecting signal integrity, layout, mechanical, and assembly procedures.
  • Develop system-level manufacturing test specifications to meet hardware coverage, quality, and product requirements.
  • Drive alternate component qualification and BOM updates.
  • Define assembly line layout, test stations, and fixtures with contract manufacturers to optimize cost and throughput.
  • Analyze production data and run lab experiments to resolve yield and test issues.
  • Lead continuous improvement of screen spec definition to minimize waste and meet test-time, yield, and DPPM goals.
  • Support quality and customer teams during escalations to diagnose issues and close coverage gaps.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, experience, and behaviors for the role.

  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience in hardware, systems, or production engineering.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and problem-solving skills; ability to drive projects independently.
  • Experience with GPU and/or CPU development or system architecture and familiarity with high-speed interconnects, memories (HBM, GDDR), system reliability, and server RAS features.
  • Knowledge of statistics, timing analysis, and fault analysis applied to manufacturing and test.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, organization, time management, and task prioritization skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Board or system-level electrical design experience.
  • Prior mass-production and manufacturing ramp experience.
  • Proven track record of continuous process improvement, tooling, and automation.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
