Job Title

Product Development QRE (Senior Product Quality & Reliability Engineer)

Role Summary

Responsible for sustaining automotive and client semiconductor products during high-volume manufacturing (HVM). Leads product quality and reliability efforts to meet quality, reliability, and cost targets across manufacturing, test, and supply partners.

Collaborates with foundries, OSATs, development teams and customers to investigate returns, perform risk assessments, and implement corrective actions and design improvements.

Experience Level

Senior-level; typically requires 5+ years of experience in product development and qualification of new semiconductor products.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Execute sustaining strategies to meet product quality, reliability, and cost objectives in HVM.
• Analyze and reduce Statistical Bin Limit (SBL) triggers and other yield/quality indicators.
• Perform risk assessments and define quality and reliability goals to support decisions.
• Ensure test class and burn-in coverage meets requirements.
• Interface with foundry, OSAT, and development partners on yield, quality, and reliability issues.
• Analyze customer returns and early customer feedback; drive corrective actions and generation-over-generation improvements.
• Monitor post-silicon quality metrics and implement learnings into future designs and manufacturing processes.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred qualifications:

• Must-have: 5+ years in product development and qualification of new semiconductor products; semiconductor product ownership experience; risk assessment and customer-issue investigation capability; cross-functional technical leadership.
• Nice-to-have: Test and reliability knowledge for product qualification; complex IC/CPU/device familiarity; strong testing and failure-analysis background.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Microelectronics, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field — or equivalent experience.
