Product Development Engineer, Senior

Role Summary

Senior hardware engineer responsible for planning, designing, optimizing, verifying, and testing electronic systems and supporting manufacturing bring-up for production programs. Works with cross-functional teams to meet performance, yield, test-time, and quality targets for digital, analog, RF, FPGA/DSP, and related systems.

Experience Level

Senior. Preferred experience indicated at 3+ years in hardware engineering; minimum experience requirements vary by degree (see Education Requirements).

Responsibilities

Key duties include design, verification, validation, and production support for hardware products.

  • Plan, design, optimize, verify, and test electronic systems across digital, analog, RF, optical, FPGA, and DSP domains.
  • Integrate features into hardware designs and perform simulations and trade-off analyses for power, performance, and area.
  • Collaborate with design, verification, validation, software, systems, and architecture teams to implement requirements and test solutions.
  • Develop and evaluate manufacturing solutions and perform product bring-up to meet yield and schedule targets.
  • Characterize reliability of materials and processes; introduce automation and optimization to improve productivity.
  • Assess complex design features for flaws, compatibility, and compliance; document technical results and procedures.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and competencies.

  • Hands-on circuit design experience (digital, analog, RF).
  • Experience with schematic capture and circuit simulation tools.
  • Proficiency with lab and measurement instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and RF tools.
  • Experience with simulations, analyses, and implementing designs to meet PPA goals.
  • Experience in manufacturing test, characterization, yield improvement, and bring-up activities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work independently and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Preferred: experience with FPGA/DSP systems, test systems, equipment and packaging.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field plus 2+ years of hardware engineering or related work experience; OR Master's degree in those fields plus 1+ year of hardware engineering or related experience; OR PhD in those fields. Preferred: Master's degree and 3+ years of hardware engineering experience.
