Product Development Engineer, Senior

Role Summary

Senior hardware engineer responsible for planning, designing, verifying and testing electronic systems and supporting product bring-up and manufacturing optimization. Works with cross-functional teams (design, verification, validation, software, architecture, manufacturing) to meet performance, yield and schedule targets for semiconductor products.

Experience Level

Senior. Preferred 3+ years of hardware engineering experience; minimum experience varies by degree (see Education Requirements).

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Plan, optimize, verify and test electronic systems, including digital, analog and RF subsystems, FPGA and DSP systems.
  • Integrate features and functionality into hardware designs aligned to roadmaps and proposals.
  • Perform simulations and analyses and implement designs for optimal power, performance and area.
  • Collaborate with design, verification, validation, software and manufacturing teams to implement requirements and test solutions.
  • Develop and execute product bring-up and manufacturing solutions to meet customer expectations and schedules.
  • Evaluate materials, processes and reliability; introduce automation and optimization to improve productivity and yield.
  • Assess complex design features for potential flaws, compatibility or compliance issues.
  • Produce detailed technical documentation for hardware projects.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience (education details moved to Education Requirements):

  • Hands-on hardware engineering experience in circuit design and system bring-up.
  • Experience with schematic capture and circuit simulation tools.
  • Proficiency using hardware measurement and test instruments (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF tools, etc.).
  • Experience with characterization, reliability evaluation and manufacturing/test optimization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience across digital, analog, RF or optical systems and with FPGA/DSP systems.
  • Experience applying automation or advanced test solutions to improve yield and test time.

Education Requirements

Minimum qualifications specify one of the following: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field plus 2+ years hardware engineering experience; OR Master's degree in those fields plus 1+ year experience; OR PhD in those fields (experience not required). Preferred: Master's degree in the listed fields. Fields referenced: Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related technical fields.
