Job Title
Product Development Engineer
Role Summary
Support post-silicon validation, test development, and manufacturability for integrated circuits from feasibility through high-volume production ramp. Work with design, process, fab, assembly, quality, and manufacturing teams to enable reliable, cost‑effective production.
Experience Level
Mid-level. No specific years-of-experience stated in the posting.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include developing test and manufacturing solutions, validating products, and enabling production ramp.
- Develop and validate testability circuits, test flows, and test methodologies for new products.
- Evaluate devices on automatic test equipment (ATE); debug functionality and performance issues to root cause.
- Perform ATE characterization, define datasheet specifications, and conduct yield and bin‑split analysis.
- Collaborate with design teams to implement DFT/DFD/DFM features and debug design/test interactions.
- Create and validate test hardware and software tools to convert validation vectors and drive complex test equipment.
- Analyze process and spec corners to ensure manufacturability and resolve yield issues prior to ramp.
- Drive test time reduction and cost optimization through fallout and test‑time analysis.
- Lead manufacturing readiness activities: ES milestones, wafer start planning, qualification strategy, and site certification.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and capabilities required to perform the role.
- Practical experience with post-silicon validation, device characterization, or production test execution (ATE).
- Experience with yield analysis, bin split optimization, and test time vs. fallout tradeoffs.
- Ability to debug complex hardware and software interactions and drive issues to root cause across cross-functional teams.
- Experience developing or debugging test hardware and software for production test environments.
- Familiarity working with fab, assembly, test factories, and manufacturing ramp activities.
- Strong data-analysis skills to inform test strategies and manufacturing decisions.
Nice-to-have: prior experience in high-volume manufacturing ramps, wafer/fab process collaboration, or automation of validation/test flows.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
