Role Summary

Drive thermal and electrical characterization, system-level validation, design-for-test (DFT) and production-test correlation to bring FPGA products from development into high-volume manufacturing. Work cross-functionally with design, test, packaging, manufacturing, and reliability teams to validate performance, improve manufacturability, and optimize production test flows.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The role typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience in product engineering, silicon validation, or semiconductor characterization.

Responsibilities

Key duties include hands-on characterization, test development, and data-driven improvement of product and test flows.

• Develop and execute thermal characterization plans across operating temperature and voltage ranges.
• Perform thermal and electrical silicon characterization and correlate measurements with simulation and design expectations.
• Analyze characterization data to identify performance or reliability limits and recommend design, package, cooling, or process changes.
• Develop and execute System Level Test (SLT) methodologies to correlate manufacturing test results with system-level performance and close tester-to-system gaps.
• Design and implement DFT strategies including scan insertion, BIST, and test compression; develop ATPG, MBIST and manufacturing test content.
• Simulate and validate pre-silicon test patterns; analyze test results and debug silicon failures with root-cause analysis.
• Work with manufacturing and test teams to optimize test time, cost, yield, and guardbands.
• Investigate early customer returns and drive closure of test holes and corrective actions.

• Must-have: 4+ years of experience in product engineering, silicon validation, product development, or semiconductor characterization.
• Must-have: Experience with thermal and/or electrical characterization of semiconductor devices, including data collection and analysis across operating conditions.
• Must-have: Experience correlating silicon measurements with design expectations, simulation models, or product specifications.
• Must-have: Experience with system-level test, production test, or post-silicon validation methodologies and test data analysis.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with FPGA, ASIC, or complex semiconductor products; knowledge of SLT, ATE correlation, guardband optimization, or yield/performance analysis.
• Nice-to-have: Scripting and data analysis experience (Python, Perl, MATLAB, or similar) to automate tests and analyze characterization data.
• Nice-to-have: Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration experience across design, test, manufacturing, packaging, and product teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field. The posting specifies this degree plus 4+ years of relevant experience as the minimum qualification.
