Job Title

Product Development and Test Engineer

Role Summary

Member of the Product Development and Test Engineering team responsible for design validation, characterization, and production deployment of IPs for 5G products in advanced FinFET process technologies.

Work closely with IC Design, Software, Systems and Operations to enable high-volume manufacturability by developing and validating test HW/SW, operating automated test equipment (ATE), debugging product functionality, and releasing cost-effective production test solutions.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Typical requirement: 2+ years of hardware engineering or product-test experience (1+ year with a Master’s degree, see Education Requirements).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include validation, test development, characterization, and production handoff for SoC products.

  • Operate and develop tests on Automated Test Equipment (ATE) to validate and debug new product functionality.
  • Develop test hardware and software for silicon bring-up and production testing.
  • Characterize devices across process-voltage-temperature corners and produce measurement reports.
  • Release cost-effective production test solutions and support high-volume manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with IC Design, firmware/software, systems, and operations teams to resolve issues and improve test coverage.
  • Use schematic-capture and circuit-simulation tools to support test development and failure analysis.
  • Perform hands-on measurements using oscilloscopes, spectrum/network analyzers, signal generators, logic analyzers, and related equipment.
  • Support physical tasks such as equipment transport and installation, and sustained use of test equipment and computers.

Requirements

Concise list of required and preferred skills and domain experience.

  • Must-have: 2+ years of hardware engineering or product/test validation experience (1+ year accepted with a Master’s; see Education Requirements for degree details).
  • Must-have: Experience with product development, test validation, and high-volume production activities for SoC-related products (compute, mobile, automotive, IoT, data center).
  • Must-have: Practical experience using measurement and test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum/network analyzers, time-interval/logic analyzers, ATE).
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience with schematic capture and circuit simulation tools (minimum ~2 years).
  • Must-have: Programming or scripting experience for test automation and analysis (examples: Python, C++, Java, assembly, or embedded software).
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with Advantest or Teradyne ATE platforms, DFT/Scan/ATPG/JTAG/memory BIST, high-speed SerDes, memory interfaces (SRAM/DRAM), CPU/logic test, or sensor validation.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with CMOS analog/mixed-signal measurements (ADC, DAC, PLL, LDO, LNA, PA) and data-analysis tools (JMP, NI tools, Exensio).
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with embedded platforms and microcontroller architectures (ARM, Arduino) is a plus.

Education Requirements

Acceptable qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field (with 2+ years relevant experience), a Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Science or related field (with 1+ year relevant experience), or a PhD in a related field. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
