Process Support Engineer
Role Summary
Support semiconductor tool installations and process development from concept through qualification. Provide on-site customer support, diagnose and repair complex equipment, collaborate with R&D and product teams, design experiments (DOEs), analyze data statistically, and resolve process integration issues.
Experience Level
Senior - minimum 7 years in semiconductor capital equipment or similar high‑tech industry; preferred background in applications or process engineering.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Act as liaison between the customer and the Business Unit for assigned projects.
- Perform on-site installation, diagnostics, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex systems and equipment.
- Optimize tool performance to meet customer process and integration requirements.
- Approve operational quality of systems and instruct customers in operation and maintenance.
- Design and execute hypothesis experiments and DOEs; analyze results using statistical methods and produce technical reports.
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve difficult process engineering and customer product issues.
- Maintain knowledge of multiple processes and technologies to support customer needs.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in semiconductor capital equipment or a similar high‑tech industry (must).
- Experience in applications or process engineering (preferred).
- Practical experience with one or more process technologies such as CVD, ALD, plasma RIE, PVD, anneal, or implant.
- Ability to design experiments, analyze statistical data, and draw technical conclusions.
- Willingness to travel (~20%); relocation eligible.
- Location: Hillsboro, OR (on-site).
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
