Process Integration Engineer (FEOL)

Role Summary

You will join the FEOL Integration team at GlobalFoundries Fab1 in Dresden to develop, support and continuously improve front-end-of-line CMOS process modules in a 300 mm production environment. The role covers responsibility for the FEOL portion of an integrated CMOS process flow, driving improvements in yield, reliability and manufacturability, and supporting technology transfer and customer-critical lots.

Experience Level

Mid-level. No specific years of experience are required; entry-level candidates with a relevant master’s degree are explicitly welcome.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyze electrical and geometric parameters within FEOL modules.
  • Plan, execute and evaluate experiments to characterize and improve processes.
  • Identify and implement improvements to increase yield, reliability and manufacturability.
  • Collaborate in cross-functional teams to resolve yield, electrical, reliability or critical-dimension issues.
  • Lead continuous-improvement projects to stabilize processes and reduce cost.
  • Develop new functionality on existing technology platforms and support prototypes and customer lots.

Requirements

Must-have skills and competencies:

  • Practical knowledge of CMOS technology and basic fabrication processes (for example CVD, lithography, RIE).
  • Strong skills in statistics and data-analysis methods and related tools.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in interdisciplinary teams; strong communication skills.
  • Very good written and spoken English.

Nice-to-have:

  • Practical experience in semiconductor manufacturing, process modules or process integration.
  • Experience in international or multicultural working environments.
  • Doctorate (PhD) in a relevant field is an advantage.

Education Requirements

Master's degree (M.Sc.) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry or a comparable technical discipline is required. A PhD is advantageous. Entry-level applicants with the required degree are explicitly welcomed.
