Process Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for defining and optimizing backend semiconductor manufacturing processes (back grind, pre-assembly) at the Bangkok site. The role maintains process documentation, supports new product introduction and process qualification, leads root-cause analysis for defects and yield losses, and collaborates with cross-functional teams on process and cost improvements.
Experience Level
Mid-level — typically requires at least 2 years' relevant experience (back grind or pre-assembly).
Responsibilities
Main responsibilities include:
- Define and optimize procedures to ensure smooth processing of production lots.
- Develop and maintain process documentation and standard operating procedures; provide operator training.
- Lead root cause analysis for defects and yield losses and provide disposition for lots with quality issues.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) and process qualification.
- Analyze production data to identify process improvements and support cost-reduction projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on process improvement initiatives.
- Perform change management, including qualification of new materials.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications and skills:
- At least 2 years' experience in back grind or pre-assembly processes.
- Experience with 10K cleanroom operations and backend power semiconductor processes.
- Practical experience with SPC tools, Cpk analysis, and Design of Experiments (DoE).
- Experience in semiconductor failure analysis and processing documentation.
- Proven track record applying Lean Six Sigma methods to manufacturing process optimization.
- Effective communication, organizational, and project management skills; proactive work approach.
Nice-to-have:
- Formal Lean Six Sigma certification or training.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or master's degree in electronic engineering or a related field.
