Principal Test Engineer

Role Summary

Senior individual contributor responsible for developing ATE test solutions for characterization, wafer sort and production of high-speed semiconductor devices. Works with design and DFx teams to ensure features are testable and meet customer specifications.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include development, optimization and release of ATE test programs and hardware for high-speed devices.

  • Lead development of ATE test solutions on Advantest 93K and/or Teradyne platforms for characterization, wafer sort, and production.
  • Design and develop ATE hardware for high-speed testing.
  • Create detailed test plans, methodologies and documentation to meet product specifications.
  • Convert test patterns from design/simulation formats to ATE formats.
  • Participate in testability and test plan reviews with DFx and Design teams.
  • Optimize test flows to reduce test time, improve yield, and remove unnecessary steps.
  • Collaborate with product and process engineers to release production test programs.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, tools and behaviors.

  • Proven expertise in test program development on Advantest 93K and/or Teradyne tester platforms.
  • Demonstrable experience in ATE testing, test methodology, silicon process knowledge, DFT/DFM, and high-speed digital testing.
  • Experience testing high-speed interfaces such as NRZ and PAM4.
  • Solid understanding of scan and MBIST DFT methodologies.
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++, Perl, and Python; comfortable in a Linux environment.
  • Experience designing complex, high-performance ATE hardware.
  • Effective communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills; able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field is required. Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
