Role Summary

Principal Technical Program Manager responsible for driving predictable delivery and engineering excellence across post-silicon and system hardware development. Partner with engineering and product leaders to translate objectives into actionable programs, improve planning and execution, and manage cross-functional dependencies across global teams.

Experience Level

Senior (Principal). Requires 10+ years in IC chip and board development and at least 3 years in a technical program manager role.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate end-to-end program delivery for post-silicon and system hardware across distributed teams.

• Manage full program lifecycle for post-silicon and system hardware: lab preparation, board/system bring-up, EVK design, validation, QA and manufacturing milestones.
• Drive firmware development and deployment to demonstrate key chip and system features.
• Coordinate power/performance characterization, demo delivery, and qualification kick-offs (silicon, board, product, NPI).
• Establish predictable milestones and timelines for internal teams and third-party partners.
• Define metrics, dashboards, and reporting to track program health and progress.
• Create playbooks and best practices for cross-functional program management.
• Identify and mitigate risks to schedule and quality; manage dependencies across Product, Hardware, QA, Manufacturing and external partners.
• Provide clear status updates and act as liaison between hardware teams and company leadership.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience followed by preferred qualifications.

• Must-have: 10+ years of experience in IC chip and board development as an engineer, engineering manager, or technical program manager, with 3+ years as a technical program manager.
• Must-have: Proven track record managing distributed, multi-region engineering teams.
• Must-have: Strong understanding of system development and qualification cycles (post-silicon to product) and waterfall program management methodologies.
• Must-have: Experience establishing scalable processes in fast-moving engineering organizations and managing complex software/hardware integration.
• Must-have: Excellent communication and stakeholder management; ability to influence without authority.
• Preferred: Prior experience as an Engineering Manager responsible for chip-to-ship execution (post-silicon to product) and experience in datacenter hardware development.
• Preferred: Experience scaling engineering teams at Series B/C startups.
• Preferred: Familiarity with JIRA, Smartsheet and project toolchain integration; experience managing external dependencies and customer-driven timelines.
