Principal Technical Program Manager
Role Summary
Lead and drive program management for SoC and/or IP design projects across hardware and system teams. The role coordinates planning, tracking, risk mitigation, stakeholder communication, and delivery into production.
Works across functional domains to improve program processes and methodologies and to ensure timely delivery of complex chip development efforts.
Experience Level
Senior — 15+ years of relevant experience in program management for silicon/SoC or IP design projects.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on planning, execution, and cross-team coordination for chip or IP development projects.
- Plan, track, and manage schedules, milestones, and deliverables for SoC and/or IP design projects.
- Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders (design, verification, tapeout, validation, manufacturing) and maintain clear communication.
- Identify and mitigate technical and schedule risks; drive issue resolution to meet program goals.
- Manage multiple concurrent complex projects; prioritize work and delegate tasks effectively.
- Drive process and methodology improvements across teams to increase program efficiency and predictability.
- Collaborate with IP development teams and technical leads to align schedules and integration plans.
Requirements
Must-have technical and professional qualifications.
- 15+ years of program management experience in chip/SoC or IP development and productization.
- Experience across chip development lifecycle through mass production (planning, tapeout, bring-up, manufacturing handoff).
- Proven ability to manage stakeholders and communicate progress and risks clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical skills: collect, analyze, and present data with actionable recommendations.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects and to drive cross-team collaboration.
- Nice-to-have: prior role as a technical lead on IP development teams.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in an engineering discipline (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering) required as stated in the posting.
