Job Title

Principal/Staff Engineer, Process Integration (NTI NAND)

Role Summary

Lead development and transfer of 3D NAND process integration modules, driving structural, electrical, and reliability performance from R&D through high-volume manufacturing. Work on a cross-functional team to define specifications, execute experiments, and implement process controls to improve manufacturability and yield.

Experience Level

Level: Senior. The role expects substantial hands-on experience in wafer fabrication process development; the posting specifies a minimum of 5 years in relevant process development areas.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Own one or more process modules for 3D NAND, define module specifications and process requirements.
  • Set technical direction, goals, metrics, and continual improvement plans for the module.
  • Identify and mitigate structural, electrical, and reliability issues early using model-based approaches and process control.
  • Design, execute, analyze, and report device and process experiments; assess statistical significance of results.
  • Optimize structural development, electrical performance, parametric verification, and manufacturability.
  • Evaluate and select materials; coordinate material transitions from research to production with process groups.
  • Assemble and lead cross-functional development teams; drive technology transfer to manufacturing.
  • Drive innovation and IP generation; prepare patent disclosures as appropriate.
  • Communicate technical status, influence decisions, and coordinate across teams to minimize schedule and quality risks.
  • Integrate AI-assisted tools and insights responsibly to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness within the scope of work.

Requirements

Key qualifications and skills.

  • Must-have: Minimum 5 years of experience in wafer fabrication process development (Dry Etch, Photolithography, Films, Wet Process, CMP, or Process Integration).
  • Must-have: Strong understanding of process-integration (PI) modules for new NAND technologies, including structural and electrical failure mechanisms, process & device interactions, and common yield and reliability issues.
  • Must-have: Direct experience with non-volatile memory (NAND) process flows, R&D, and technology transfer to manufacturing.
  • Must-have: Demonstrated data analysis and problem-solving skills; ability to design and interpret experiments and implement process control strategies.
  • Must-have: Effective communication and collaboration skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Nice-to-have: Proficiency with scripting/programming or analytics tools (for example Python, SolidWorks, Tableau, Power BI) to support data analysis and automation.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with AI-enabled tools and baseline digital fluency to apply role-appropriate AI literacy responsibly.

Education Requirements

Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field - or equivalent practical experience.
