Principal Software Engineer – CSP Engagements

Role Summary

Lead the Data Center Systems and Software CSP engagements team as the primary technical contact for select cloud service providers and hyperscalers. Influence system software architecture, align customer requirements with NVIDIA roadmaps, and drive resolution of high‑impact issues during new product introduction (NPI).

Experience Level

Senior — expects 15+ years of experience in system software architecture and development.

Responsibilities

Technical leadership and customer-facing engineering for NPI and production platforms.

  • Drive system software architecture alignment and lead technical deep dives for NPI projects with key CSP customers.
  • Collaborate with customers to translate roadmaps and use cases into product and engineering requirements.
  • Spearhead cross-functional efforts to resolve complex, high-profile customer issues during NPI.
  • Make technical decisions under ambiguity and mitigate execution risks using a left-shift strategy.
  • Work with cross-functional architects to define system software architecture for complex server platforms.
  • Build and maintain customer trust through consistent technical engagement and problem resolution.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • Extensive experience designing scalable, high-performance server systems at the software/hardware interface.
  • Proven leadership and project ownership in complex software and hardware environments.
  • Deep understanding of computer architecture and microprocessor concepts; expert knowledge of ARM (aarch64) and x86 architectures.
  • Proficient in system software design, OS fundamentals, Linux kernel device drivers, and low-level hardware/software interfaces.
  • Skilled in complex system-level debugging, performance analysis, and test design.
  • 15+ years of experience in system software architecture and development.

Nice-to-have:

  • Knowledge of cloud and cluster-level deployment and management systems.
  • Experience with out-of-band and in-band management architectures and GPU computing (CUDA) for deep learning workloads.
  • Familiarity with memory fabric and CXL architectures.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience; the posting explicitly allows equivalent experience in lieu of a degree (role expects >15 years of relevant experience).
