Job Title
Principal SoC Verification Engineer
Role Summary
The Principal SoC Verification Engineer is responsible for planning and delivering end-to-end verification for ARM-based automotive SoCs, owning verification sign-off and full-chip integration activities. The role collaborates with design, safety, firmware and validation teams, leads complex debug efforts, and mentors verification engineers toward tape-out readiness.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 10+ years of hands-on SoC verification experience focused on ARM-based automotive MCUs.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include architecting and executing verification plans, driving sign-off, and coordinating cross-team verification activities.
- Define and execute end-to-end verification strategy for ARM-based automotive MCUs.
- Develop and maintain SystemVerilog/UVM-based verification environments and testbenches.
- Verify AMBA protocols (AXI/AHB/APB) and ARM interconnects (NIC/XBAR) for connectivity, coherency, performance, and deadlock scenarios.
- Verify ARM Cortex-R52 and Cortex-M7/M4 core integrations and subsystem interactions (boot, reset, clocking, low-power behavior).
- Perform subsystem-level verification including MRAM-based subsystems and firmware-driven flows.
- Implement low-power verification using UPF across multiple power domains (isolation, retention, power-state transitions).
- Lead debug and root-cause analysis for complex verification failures and collaborate with design and validation teams to mitigate risks.
- Mentor and guide verification engineers; drive verification readiness for tape-out and safety compliance activities.
Requirements
Technical requirements and desirable skills.
Must-have:
- Strong expertise in SystemVerilog and UVM-based verification methodologies.
- Proven experience verifying AMBA protocols (AXI/AHB/APB) and ARM interconnects (NIC/XBAR).
- Experience with ARM Cortex-R52 and Cortex-M7/M4 core verification and subsystem integration.
- Experience verifying MRAM-based subsystems and firmware-driven verification flows.
- Experience with ISO 26262 automotive safety-related verification activities.
- Experience with power-intent specification and UPF-based low-power verification across multiple power domains.
- Ability to lead complex debug efforts and coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to achieve verification sign-off.
Nice-to-have:
- Pre-silicon experience on emulation/validation platforms (Palladium, Veloce or equivalent).
- Experience with full-chip integration and verification sign-off on complex SoCs.
Education Requirements
B.Tech or M.Tech in Electronics or Electrical Engineering is specified in the posting.
