Job Title

Principal RF Application Engineer

Role Summary

Join the RF semiconductor team in Istanbul to lead phased-array product integration, antenna and demo-board development, and customer solution engineering. The role partners with global product, design, and sales teams to deliver reference designs and solve complex integration challenges for customers.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Typically requires 10+ years of relevant product applications engineering or customer support experience; fewer years may be acceptable with an advanced degree.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, integration, evaluation, and customer-facing technical leadership for phased-array and RF solutions.

  • Design and develop antennas and phased-array systems using silicon RF components.
  • Create schematics, PCB layouts for demo and reference boards, and produce user guides and documentation.
  • Evaluate products and application scenarios using bench test equipment and prototypes.
  • Define and optimize system architecture and line-up to support customer integrations.
  • Develop advanced customer solutions: reference boards, application tools, and software demonstrations.
  • Conduct customer visits and technical assessments in support of sales and integration efforts.
  • Perform competitive analysis and provide strategic technical insights to inform product direction.
  • Prepare and deliver technical training and written materials for internal teams and customers.
  • Travel as required (approximately 10%).

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes; listed separately from formal education.

  • Proven experience in antenna design and phased-array system development.
  • Hands-on experience with schematic capture and PCB layout for RF/demo boards.
  • Familiarity with EM simulation tools and principles.
  • Experience with system line-up and budget simulations.
  • Ability to evaluate hardware using RF bench equipment and debug system-level issues.
  • Strong technical writing, presentation, and customer-facing communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex application projects and work collaboratively across global teams.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous situations, motivated, results-oriented, and able to learn quickly.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is expected; a Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering is preferred. Equivalent practical experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
