Principal Program Manager, Product Line Efficiencies — Silicon Photonics
Role Summary
Enterprise-level, cross-functional leader responsible for strategy and execution of customer-facing silicon photonics (SiPh) programs and product platforms. Drives alignment across Technology Development, Design Enablement, Test, Packaging, Quality/Reliability, Operations, Supply Chain, and external partners to deliver programs from concept through qualification and production ramp.
Accountable for program governance, portfolio prioritization, risk posture, delivery predictability, and representing the SiPh product line in executive and customer forums.
Experience Level
Senior — typically requires 10+ years managing programs, products, or methodologies in the semiconductor or photonics industries.
Responsibilities
Lead program and portfolio execution for silicon photonics products, ensuring end-to-end delivery, governance, and cross-functional alignment.
- Own senior customer relationships and executive stakeholder alignment; establish governance cadence and lead executive decision-making on priorities and trade-offs.
- Translate product-line strategy into integrated portfolio execution plans and prioritize across multiple programs and dependencies.
- Manage end-to-end lifecycle delivery: feature definition, design enablement, test strategy, packaging readiness, qualification, and manufacturing handoff.
- Define and run program/portfolio governance, maintain integrated master schedules, and proactively manage critical-path risks with mitigation plans.
- Lead multi-site cross-functional teams to align resources, sequencing, and priorities; resolve conflicts and accelerate issue closure.
- Set qualification strategy, readiness gates, and acceptance criteria with Quality/Reliability and customers; close qualification gaps before production release.
- Provide demand and build-plan visibility; align on capacity, materials, and readiness for qualification builds and production ramps.
- Scale program management operating mechanisms (metrics, dashboards, templates) and drive adoption of AI-enabled workflows and analytics to improve execution efficiency.
- Represent the product line in executive reviews, customer QBRs, audits, and cross-company forums; coach and mentor program managers to raise organizational capability.
Requirements
Must-have technical and program management skills and domain experience.
- 10+ years managing programs, products, or methodologies in the semiconductor or photonics industries.
- Demonstrated understanding of silicon photonics, product lifecycle, and customer engagement.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional, multi-site teams and aligning resources and priorities across engineering, test, packaging, quality, operations, and supply chain.
- Strong program governance skills: schedule management, change control, risk identification and mitigation, and decision tracking.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills; ability to lead customer and executive interactions.
- Experience deploying data-driven or AI/ML-enabled workflows for program management is desirable.
- Working conditions: role based in Malta, NY with hybrid flexibility; occasional travel up to 10%.
Education Requirements
