Principal Program Manager
Role Summary
Project and program manager for services engagements and technology initiatives within the Cadence Services Team. Lead cross-functional, matrixed teams to scope, plan, execute and deliver customer projects on schedule and within budget.
The role interfaces with account, sales, field, finance and legal teams and owns project technical and commercial delivery for external and internal customers.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 6+ years of semiconductor design or relevant project management experience.
Responsibilities
Key duties include planning, coordinating and delivering services projects while maintaining customer communication, risk mitigation and budget control.
- Collaborate with account teams to define project scope, prepare Statements of Work (SOW) and develop cost plans with technical leads, Finance and Legal.
- Serve as primary customer contact for status, risks, issues and resolution.
- Lead cross-functional teams to manage, execute, monitor and control all deliverables to ensure customer success.
- Create, maintain and track project plans, schedules, activities, risks and issues.
- Drive tasks to completion within scope, schedule and budget; report project status and metrics.
- Proactively identify, mitigate and resolve project risks and issues.
- Prioritize and allocate resources across teams to meet project objectives.
- Foster collaboration, accountability and resolve internal conflicts among project stakeholders.
- Contribute to process and operational improvements for services delivery.
- Occasional domestic and international travel as required.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience for successful performance in this role.
- 6+ years of semiconductor design experience or relevant project management experience.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication, presentation, assessment and analytical skills.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and delivering projects to schedule and budget.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience driving services engagements involving analog, SoC, verification or package/board expertise.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
- Familiarity with Cadence design tools and background in IC design, SoC verification, RTL or IP development is advantageous.
Education Requirements
Requires a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. Project management certification is noted as a plus.
