Principal Program Manager
Role Summary
Manage and deliver services and technology engagements executed by the Cadence Services team. Lead cross-functional, matrix teams from project initiation through delivery, owning technical and commercial project responsibilities and ensuring customer success.
The role works closely with account, sales, field and services teams to scope work, create statements of work and manage deliverables, schedules, risks and budgets for external and internal customers.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 6+ years of semiconductor design or relevant project management experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include project planning, execution, and customer communication for services engagements.
- Collaborate with account teams to scope projects, develop Statements of Work and cost plans with technical leads, finance, and legal.
- Serve as principal customer contact for status, risks, issues and resolutions.
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver project milestones on schedule, scope, and budget.
- Create, maintain and track project plans, schedules, activities, issues and metrics.
- Identify, mitigate and resolve project risks and issues proactively.
- Prioritize resources across teams to meet project objectives and resolve internal conflicts.
- Contribute to operational best practices and process improvements.
- Occasional domestic and international travel as required.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience needed to perform the role.
- 6+ years of semiconductor design or relevant project management experience, including managing multiple complex projects.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive delivery in a matrix environment.
- Strong communication, presentation, assessment and analytical skills; experience interacting with customers and senior management.
- Familiarity with IC design disciplines such as analog, SoC verification, RTL or IP development preferred.
- Experience creating and tracking project plans, schedules, budgets, and metrics.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for customer and team meetings.
Nice-to-have:
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP).
- Experience with Cadence design tools.
Education Requirements
Requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering. Project management certification is a plus.
