Principal Product/Test Engineer

Role Summary

Senior individual contributor responsible for improving cost, yield, quality, and product robustness across Automotive and Industrial semiconductor portfolios. Leads new product introduction and sustaining activities across fab, assembly, and test, focusing on wafer-sort and final-test yield, test cost, and cost-of-build metrics.

Works with cross-functional teams (program, quality, design, firmware, fab, assembly, factory test) and applies expertise in digital, analog/mixed-signal, RF test, multiple ATE platforms, and production-level coding to productize device families and meet cost and quality targets.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Own cost-entitlement roadmap and delivery of wafer-sort yield (WSY), final-test yield (FTY), test-cost, and cost-of-build (COB) across Post-Fab Services products.
• Generate automated daily/weekly data analysis and reporting for yield and scrap metrics.
• Own customer RMA activities and post-RMA root-cause disposition including electrical and physical failure analysis (EFA/PFA).
• Interface with fab, assembly, and factory test teams to drive yield and test improvements across products.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives: burn-in reduction/elimination, test flow optimization, and test-time/yield enhancements.
• Lead cross-functional execution with program management, quality, design, firmware, and factory teams to resolve product issues and meet schedule and quality objectives.
• Document gaps, lessons learned, and best practices for future projects.
• Update and modify production ATE code; work with vendors to develop low-level automation for ATE systems.
• Perform all work in compliance with Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

• Hands-on experience with multiple ATE platforms (examples: V93K, Exascale, ETS800, ETS364, T2K, IFlex, UltraFlex).
• Proficiency modifying and developing production ATE software; familiarity with C, C++, Python, Java; scripting (PERL or Python) is a plus.
• Strong statistics and data-analysis skills; ability to generate and interpret automated yield and quality reports.
• Broad IC test knowledge across digital, mixed-signal/analog, and RF domains; understanding of DfT strategies and test instrumentation requirements.
• Proven ability to work with ATE system architectures and vendors to implement low-level automation.
• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills; experience working with cross-functional and global teams with minimal supervision.
• Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks.

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required. The posting specifies a minimum of greater than 15 years of product/test experience in Digital, Analog/Mix-Signal, and RF domains.
