Principal Product Test Engineer, Advanced Compute

Lead the technical direction for Advanced Compute Platform NPIs and manufacturing programs to meet customer, factory, and business requirements. Ensure product performance, quality, and reliability across server and rack platforms through collaboration with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical leadership, customer engagement, test infrastructure, and production support.
- Provide technical guidance and mentor junior engineers and test/debug leads.
- Lead customer and internal teams to resolve complex product, process, and material issues using structured analysis.
- Serve as the primary technical interface for customer product introductions and manufacturing performance for server and storage platforms.
- Maintain manufacturing documentation for server (L10) and rack (L11) test procedures, specifications, and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with site operations and test leadership to execute root-cause investigations and improve FPY, test throughput, and repair yield.
- Define and collaborate on test infrastructure and application architectures to support scalable manufacturing solutions.
- Develop and maintain technical knowledge bases and incorporate operational feedback.
- Stay current with test technologies, methodologies, and industry best practices.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items noted.
- Experience across server, storage, networking, and GPU/PCIe-based accelerator architectures.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming: Python and BASH required; C/C++ preferred.
- Systems management experience with server platforms and remote/embedded management interfaces.
- Broad expertise in product engineering, manufacturing processes, and advanced compute platforms.
- Proven success leading New Product Introduction (NPI) and manufacturing programs from concept through production release.
- Working knowledge of operating systems, drivers, firmware, and hardware architectures; ability to combine software and hardware expertise for root-cause analysis.
- Advanced proficiency with Linux and related scripting/application development.
- Strong execution and decision-making skills; ability to collaborate with customers and suppliers.
- Experience in multi-site and multi-cultural environments; domestic/international travel up to 10%.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline is specified.
