Principal Product Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Operations Engineering team to lead new product introductions (NPI) and transfer products to OSAT partners. The role focuses on delivering product launches, yield and quality improvements, and supporting production and sustaining activities for analog, mixed-signal and power management ICs.

Reports to the Senior Manager of Product Engineering and partners with cross-functional teams, foundries, test and assembly vendors, and customers to drive products from prototype to high-volume manufacturing.

Experience Level

Senior-level (Principal).

Responsibilities

Primary duties include technical planning and execution across the full product lifecycle.

  • Define test coverage, flow, characterization and qualification plans for NPI.
  • Manage multiple NPIs from kickoff through production and sustaining support.
  • Create and maintain detailed schedules, resource allocations and infrastructure for NPI.
  • Coordinate with wafer fabs, test houses and OSATs to execute wafer sort and final test.
  • Lead failure analysis, RMA support, and corrective actions.
  • Optimize yield, cost, cycle time and quality metrics.
  • Support product lifecycle tasks including BOM management and production bring-up.
  • Collaborate across engineering, operations and external suppliers with clear project communication.

Requirements

Key skills and domain experience required or strongly preferred.

  • Must-have: Significant experience in New Product Introduction, test coverage and DFT for analog/mixed-signal and power ICs.
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience with wafer fab foundries and test & assembly OSAT partners.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with ATE and wafer sort processes for PMICs; experience with Failure Analysis and RMA processes.
  • Must-have: Strong knowledge of analog, mixed-signal and power semiconductor circuits and devices (regulators, drivers, references, ADC, memory OTP/MTP, scan).
  • Must-have: Proficiency in C/C++ and Red Hat Linux for automation or test software; data analysis skills (JMP or equivalent).
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with Advantest V93k ATE.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with DDR and other high-speed digital products.
  • Ability to learn independently, solve complex technical problems, and collaborate across functional teams.

Education Requirements

B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
