Job Title

Principal Product Development Engineer

Role Summary

Serve as the technical lead for NVIDIA's Mixed-Signal Product Development team, building technical roadmaps and processes to move deep-submicron CMOS mixed-signal designs from validation into high-volume manufacturing.

Work across system-level test, validation, reliability, and manufacturing to drive yield architecture, test optimization, and product performance verification for high-speed mixed-signal solutions used in AI, networking, and HPC.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically requires 12+ years of relevant semiconductor product development, validation, or manufacturing engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Lead technical strategy and execution from early silicon validation through qualification and volume production; coordinate cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and improve yield.

  • Define and drive end-to-end product development strategy from silicon bring-up to high-volume manufacturing.
  • Develop and implement validation methodologies and test strategies for deep-submicron analog and mixed-signal silicon.
  • Partner with analog/digital development, system-level testing, reliability, and production teams to align architecture through manufacturing.
  • Influence DFT, DFM, and BIST strategies and ensure alignment from architectural co-design to mass production.
  • Architect parametric, electrical, and mixed-signal characterization for high-speed interfaces, power management, and clocking circuits.
  • Lead root-cause analysis for complex silicon anomalies (Vmin/Fmax, yield excursions, reliability) and drive corrective actions.
  • Design yield improvement initiatives and test-time reduction strategies across wafer-sort and final test flows.
  • Establish scalable data-analysis frameworks, automated pipelines, and statistical methods for validation and production monitoring.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, tools, and experience required to perform the role.

  • 12+ years in semiconductor product development, validation, or manufacturing engineering with experience as a technical lead or principal engineer.
  • Deep technical knowledge of advanced CMOS process technologies and analog/mixed-signal circuit behavior interacting with digital logic.
  • Proven experience in yield analysis, product characterization, and statistical data analysis (experience with tools such as JMP or Spotfire is expected).
  • High proficiency in automation and scripting for validation and data analysis (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional problem solving under tight timelines and overcome significant technical obstacles.
  • Experience defining test optimization plans and driving manufacturing efficiency improvements across wafer-sort and package test flows.

Nice-to-have:

  • Foundry device-physics experience and history working with foundries to address process anomalies.
  • Expertise in ATE flows, test-pattern conversion, and handling high-power FinFET or GAA silicon.
  • Background in multi-chip modules, 2.5D/3D packaging, or CoWoS integration and leading silicon ramps from prototype to high-volume production.

Education Requirements

Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
