Principal Product Development Engineer

Role Summary

Lead or contribute to cross-functional teams to design, qualify and release new Power MOSFET products that meet customer, market and quality requirements. The role covers device design, characterization, manufacturability and collaboration with product marketing, process and assembly functions.

Experience Level

Senior-level: requires approximately 8 years' experience in semiconductors or a related field with demonstrated leadership and project management responsibility.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include leading product development projects and ensuring successful product release.

• Lead project teams to deliver new product families, complex products or technology platforms on schedule.
• Ensure manufacturability, reliability and customer requirements are met in collaboration with product marketing, process development and assembly.
• Provide technical support for product specifications, customer inquiries and complaint resolution.
• Serve as technical consultant and provide project management expertise across multiple projects.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of product release processes, simulation, design and test methods.
• Produce product and project documentation, technical reports and release artifacts.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, experience and behaviors.

• ~8 years' experience in semiconductors or a related field (see Education Requirements for degree expectations).
• Expert understanding of Power MOSFET electrical operation and device structure.
• Practical experience with fab processes, packaging flows and design-for-manufacturability.
• Experience with reliability methods, failure modes analysis and Design of Experiments.
• Familiarity with device simulation tools, characterization techniques and data analysis.
• Proven project planning, budgeting and progress reporting skills.
• Leadership experience, mentoring of junior engineers, and strong cross-functional communication.
• Ability to handle non-standard situations, customer communications and provide technical consultancy.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Physics or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
