Principal Product Application Engineer – Diodes & Transistors

Role Summary

Lead application strategy and manage application knowledge for the Diodes & Transistors portfolio. Provide technical support to key customers (automotive, industrial, consumer) and act as the primary interface between customers, Product Management and R&D to shape product requirements and the future product portfolio.

Experience Level

Mid-level — minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in the semiconductor industry or a related business.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include translating application insights into product requirements, supporting customers, and representing the application viewpoint externally.

• Assess product strengths versus competitors and quantify technical benefits.
• Define and prioritize product requirements based on customer/application insights.
• Represent Nexperia’s application perspective in technical committees and standardization groups.
• Establish and maintain technical contacts with OEMs, reference design houses and industry lead customers.
• Translate customer insights into customer requirement specifications to inform the product roadmap.
• Perform product investigations and application-level circuit analysis.
• Develop demo boards and present the Diodes & Transistors group at trade fairs.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience; where noted, items are desirable but not mandatory.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the semiconductor industry or related business.
• Experience in Automotive, Industrial or Consumer Electronics environments is strongly preferred.
• Development and engineering experience with hardware design knowledge.
• Simulation and measurement skills are a plus.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, result-oriented and customer-focused approach.
• Strong English communication and negotiation skills; German is a plus.
• Proven ability to work effectively in multicultural and international teams.

Education Requirements

University degree in Electrical Engineering or another related technical discipline.
