Role Summary

The Principal Product Application Engineer will support and accelerate the Business Group MOS design pipeline across South Korea by providing technical support, training, and customer-facing engineering engagement. The role works with account managers, FAEs, distributors and sales to grow design-in opportunities and represent Nexperia at technical and marketing events.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting specifies at least 3+ years of experience in power electronics applications.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities involve technical support, customer engagement, and enabling design wins for BG MOS products in the region.

• Collaborate with Account Managers, Business Development, FAEs, distributors and sales to grow MOS design pipelines in South Korea.
• Act as a product expert for BG MOS product families and roadmaps.
• Provide tier‑2 technical support and deliver technical training to customers and partners.
• Develop and maintain trusted relationships with design engineers and intermediaries.
• Capture customer requirements, identify white‑spot and NPI opportunities, and monitor competitor activity.
• Identify emerging applications and high‑potential customers.
• Support marketing initiatives and represent Nexperia at technical events and speaking engagements.
• Promote and use advanced support tools: models, evaluation systems, and technical documentation.
• Create engineering design materials such as application schematics, demo boards, and simulations.
• Contribute technical content to drive awareness and adoption within customer design communities.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, professional attributes, and travel readiness; nice-to-have items noted.

• Must-have: Minimum 3+ years experience in power electronics applications (AC/DC power conversion, motor control, BMS, energy storage, etc.).
• Must-have: Familiarity with electronic product design processes including component selection and qualification.
• Must-have: Strong communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills; high standard of written and spoken English.
• Must-have: Self-motivated, results-driven, continuous improvement mindset, and team player.
• Must-have: Willingness to travel up to 50%.
• Nice-to-have: Hands-on experience with MOSFETs and related technologies.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with prominent ECAD systems and simulation tools.
• Nice-to-have: Experience in automotive, industrial, or commercial applications.

Education Requirements

Master's degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related technical discipline. The posting allows equivalent practical experience in lieu of the degree.
