Job Title

Principal Process Integration Engineer

Role Summary

Lead process integration and transfer activities for CMOS and Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) technologies, taking projects from New Product Introduction (NPI) through high-volume manufacturing. The role reports into process integration leadership and works closely with design teams, yield, failure analysis, and Tier-1 foundries to define technical specifications and Best Known Methods (BKM).

Primary focus areas include process flow design, device performance optimization, yield stabilization, and cross-functional coordination across product, package, and foundry partners.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically 10+ years in the semiconductor industry with demonstrated experience in CMOS logic processes or NVM integration and mass production.

Responsibilities

Accountable for technical leadership across process integration, characterization, yield, and foundry interactions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Define and lead CMOS and NVM process flows to meet device performance, yield, and reliability targets.
  • Manage the critical path from NPI to high-volume manufacturing, including specification definition and BKM development.
  • Perform statistical analysis and Physical Failure Analysis (PFA) to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive cross-functional yield improvement programs to improve production stability and reduce cost.
  • Lead technical engagements with major international foundries to manage process transfer, alignment, and ramp activities.
  • Collaborate with design and circuit teams on memory architecture, NVM operation, and peripheral circuit optimization as needed.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items noted separately.

  • Must-have: Extensive hands-on experience with CMOS logic processes and NVM technologies (e.g., eFlash, RRAM, MRAM) in a production environment.
  • Must-have: Proven experience in process characterization, statistical data analysis, and electrical parameter interpretation using tools such as JMP, Python, or Spotfire.
  • Must-have: Experience leading NPI-to-volume ramps and managing cross-functional teams including yield, FA, test, and manufacturing.
  • Nice-to-have: Track record in process transfer or "copy-smart" migrations and rapid yield ramp-up during technology transfer.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with BCD process development or PMIC optimization.
  • Nice-to-have: Advanced-node NVM integration experience (28nm, 16nm, 12nm or below) and familiarity with memory architecture and peripheral circuits.
  • Soft skills: Strong analytical thinking, proactive ownership, and clear technical communication across multi-site and cross-discipline teams.

Education Requirements

Master's degree or PhD in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
