Job Title

Principal Power Management Applications Engineer

Role Summary

Provide applications and customer support for PMIC power management ICs and RF GaN/GaAs biasing ICs within the Analog Power / RF Front-End team. Deliver evaluation hardware, debug support, technical documentation, and coordinate cross-functional efforts to integrate Qorvo products into customer systems.

This is a hands-on role that combines lab testing, customer-facing debug, and collaboration with design, validation, and product teams.

Experience Level

Senior (professional level). Guidance: approximately 10–15+ years of experience in analog/mixed-signal ICs, power supply applications, or related fields.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include customer support, evaluation hardware design, documentation, and cross-team project coordination.

  • Design and build evaluation boards for PMICs and GaN/GaAs bias controllers.
  • Provide design-in, debugging, and system-level support to customers and field teams.
  • Manage customer projects and coordinate across Test, Quality, Design, Applications, and customer organizations.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation: datasheets, evaluation reports, and customer presentations.
  • Collaborate with design, validation, and product line teams to influence product development.
  • Analyze design tradeoffs, perform schematic and layout reviews, and test hardware for multi-rail loads, PA gate/drain sequencing, pulsed control, and telemetry.
  • Support failure analysis and product validation with measured bench testing of IC functionality.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 10–15+ years experience in analog, mixed-signal ICs, and power supply applications or design.
  • Hands-on experience testing and troubleshooting power management circuits and RF GaN/GaAs biasing circuits, including RF power amplifier systems.
  • Experience with power supply design, PCB layout considerations, and hardware testing.
  • Strong laboratory skills for testing, characterizing, and debugging analog circuits.
  • Familiarity with I2C and SPI interfaces and common PCB design tools.
  • Soldering and PCB rework skills for prototype/evaluation hardware.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; customer-facing experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field (as stated in the posting).
