Principal Platform Architect - AGI CPU
Role Summary
Principal Platform Architect in the Arm Cloud AI Business Unit responsible for defining system-level solutions to enable deployment of Arm AGI CPUs in cloud, AI and data-center markets. The role partners with SoC, platform, software teams and external OEM/ODM/hyperscaler partners to drive system design, performance, power-efficiency and scalability for next-generation servers.

Senior level - requires extensive industry experience; posting indicates 10+ years of relevant systems/platforms architecture experience.
Responsibilities
Main responsibilities include technical leadership with partners and cross-functional teams to define and deliver cloud hardware solutions.
- Lead OEM/ODM partners to design cloud hardware solutions combining Arm SoCs, partner IP and system components for performance, power efficiency, scalability and time-to-market.
- Collaborate with SoC, platform and software architects and multi-functional teams (hardware, software, performance engineering, research) to align deployment strategies with system design goals.
- Engage with hyperscalers, OEMs, ODMs, accelerator, memory/IO partners and system/software companies to gather requirements and drive adoption.
- Perform competitive analysis, track AI/data-center advancements, and propose system-level innovations to support product management and roadmaps.
- Represent Arm at industry forums and working groups to promote server solutions and influence standards and ecosystem adoption.
Requirements
Must-have technical background and practical experience for the role; nice-to-have items listed separately.
- 10+ years as a systems/platforms architect with experience in silicon and hardware design.
- Knowledge of cloud design points including servers, accelerators, networking and storage equipment.
- Experience building and deploying cloud hardware covering rack-scale architecture, accelerator/IO interconnect, power efficiency and cooling solutions.
- Experience with silicon/IP design and verification teams, board design and bring-up, and system modeling, simulation or emulation techniques.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to build technical consensus across teams and clarify complex, poorly defined problems.
- Nice to have: understanding of cloud software architecture impacts on hardware; familiarity with SoC design flow, validation, packaging; experience driving industry standards and presenting at technical forums.
Education Requirements
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is stated; other degrees will be considered with relevant work experience (i.e., equivalent practical experience accepted).
