Job Title

Principal Physical Design Engineer (Chiplet Design)

Role Summary

Lead and own the physical design for a complete chiplet, driving full-chip floorplanning, place-and-route, and signoff activities. Collaborate with architecture, IP, package, CAD/methodology, and verification teams to meet PPA and schedule targets.

Experience Level

Senior β€” guidance from the posting indicates approximately 15+ years of physical design experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Key duties for this role include:

  • Own physical design for one complete chiplet on advanced process nodes; lead chiplet through tapeout from a PD perspective.
  • Define and implement full-chip floorplan and timing targets across PVT corners.
  • Drive full-chip and tile place-and-route closure and monitor signoff flows (physical verification, IREM, etc.).
  • Optimize power, performance, and area; reduce datapath latency and manage power-delivery interactions with package teams.
  • Coordinate technical work with architects, IP teams, CAD/methodology, package, and verification stakeholders.
  • Mentor and guide engineers; present technical status and decisions to senior stakeholders.
