Principal NPI Test Engineer
SemtechRole Summary
The Principal NPI Test Engineer will serve as the technical authority and strategic leader for new product introduction test development in Semtech's mixed-signal product portfolio. The role involves architecting comprehensive test solutions that span from early silicon validation through high-volume production.
Experience Level
Senior; 15+ years of experience in semiconductor test is preferred.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities include:
- Architecting and defining test strategies for complex mixed-signal SiGe products.
- Leading the development of innovative test methodologies for high-speed SerDes, CDRs, and signal conditioning products.
- Driving DFT/testability requirements into IC architecture.
- Implementing advanced test techniques for products operating at >200Gbps data rates.
- Creating reusable test IP, libraries, and frameworks.
- Mentoring junior engineers and developing next-generation test leaders.
- Collaborating with IC design teams and product engineering.
- Researching next-generation ATE capabilities and implementing AI/ML techniques.
- Ensuring the seamless transfer of test solutions to high-volume OSATs.
Requirements
The requirements for this role include:
- Expert-level proficiency with Advantest V93000 platform.
- Advanced programming skills in C/C++, Python, and TCL.
- Deep understanding of high-speed signal integrity and BER testing.
- Experience with PCB design tools and signal integrity simulation.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to influence across organizations.
Education Requirements
A Master's degree or PhD in a relevant engineering discipline is desired.
