Job Title

Principal Mixed Signal Design Engineer, Technical Lead

Role Summary

Lead system- and transistor-level mixed-signal IC design for new industrial products, focusing on high-speed and precision analog integration. Work across chiplet-based architectures using fine-line CMOS and BiCMOS SiGe processes.

The role leads internal cross-functional design teams, collaborates directly with top-tier customers, and drives products from concept through release covering requirements, simulation, lab validation, packaging and ESD considerations.

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires experienced engineer. Posting specifies 7+ years of mixed-signal design experience.

Responsibilities

Responsible for system-level architecture, design leadership, and delivery of mixed-signal IC products.

  • Lead customer collaboration at the system-architecture level and translate customer needs into product requirements.
  • Define and document detailed system-level requirements for internal design teams.
  • Manage product development from concept through release: planning, organizing, and executing design activities.
  • Create transistor- and system-level schematics integrating analog and digital circuits, including high-speed drivers/receivers and precision analog blocks.
  • Work with evaluation engineers to validate measured results against simulations (eye diagrams, jitter, timing accuracy).
  • Collaborate with application engineers on datasheets, evaluation boards and reference designs; prepare and present design review packages.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in the role.

  • Proven mixed-signal circuit design expertise, including transistor-level schematic design and system-level problem solving.
  • Experience with 40nm CMOS or smaller node design and development.
  • Proficiency with SPICE-based simulators and CAD tools (Cadence Virtuoso).
  • Hands-on knowledge of lab equipment: digital oscilloscopes, signal/source generators, and BER testers.
  • Ability to lead and communicate effectively within global engineering teams and with customers.
  • Experience validating designs against lab measurements and interpreting timing/jitter/eye-diagram results.
  • Required travel: approximately 10% for customer and internal collaboration.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with high-speed analog BiCMOS SiGe and fine-line CMOS processes and chiplet integration.
  • Familiarity with packaging, ESD considerations, and evaluation board development.

Education Requirements

Posting specifies a BSEE; MSEE preferred. Requires approximately 7+ years of mixed-signal design experience. No specific certifications listed.
