Job Title

Principal Mixed-Signal Design Engineer

Role Summary

Lead development of high-speed mixed-signal data converter circuits in ADI's Advanced Cores Group. The role focuses on architecture selection, transistor-level circuit design, coordinating with layout/evaluation/test teams, and mentoring other engineers.

Experience Level

Senior β€” principal-level role. The position expects 14+ years of CMOS design experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead circuit development efforts and evaluate/select converter architectures.
  • Design transistor-level circuits for converters and related analog blocks.
  • Prepare design documentation and lead technical design reviews.
  • Coordinate and guide layout, evaluation, and test engineering through implementation and bring-up.
  • Mentor and develop other design engineers and contribute to team technical direction.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • Extensive hands-on experience in high-speed data converter design (pipeline ADC, SAR ADC, current-steering DAC).
  • Deep knowledge of circuits such as wide-bandwidth amplifiers, comparators, switched-cap circuits, precision voltage/current references, and LDOs.
  • Proficiency with Cadence schematic capture and SPICE simulation tools.
  • Experience using MATLAB for behavioral modeling.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in large teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Signal processing knowledge related to calibration algorithms.
  • Experience with FinFET processes and SerDes PHYs.

Education Requirements

M.S. or beyond in Electrical Engineering.
