Principal Mixed-Signal Design Engineer
Role Summary
The Principal Mixed-Signal Design Engineer will work in the Advanced Cores Group (ACG) on development of ADC, DAC and/or SerDes PHY subsystems for system-on-chip (SoC) products using FinFET process technologies.
Primary responsibilities include leading subsystem implementation and transistor-level design, guiding layout, verification, evaluation and test, and mentoring other mixed-signal engineers.
Experience Level
Senior β 10+ years of mixed-signal integrated circuit development experience.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities for this role include:
- Develop and select mixed-signal subsystem implementation architectures for ADCs, DACs and/or SerDes PHYs.
- Design transistor-level mixed-signal integrated circuits for high-performance SoC applications.
- Prepare design documentation and lead/conduct technical design reviews.
- Lead mixed-signal subsystem development efforts and coordinate across teams.
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to mixed-signal design engineers.
- Provide guidance on mixed-signal layout, evaluation, test, and qualification.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications and skills:
- 10+ years of hands-on mixed-signal integrated circuit development experience.
- Deep understanding of data converter architectures and specifications and/or SerDes PHY architectures and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of mixed-signal design fundamentals, design tools, and methodologies.
- Solid understanding of integrated circuit product development processes, including design, verification, evaluation, test, and qualification.
- Proven track record delivering challenging mixed-signal ICs for commercial applications.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Experience with FinFET process technologies and high-performance circuit design.
Education Requirements
MS in Electrical Engineering (stated).
