Job Title

Principal Mixed-Signal Design Engineer

Role Summary

Lead mixed-signal converter development within the Advanced Cores Group, owning circuit-architecture selection, transistor-level design, and coordination with layout, evaluation, and test teams.

Mission: deliver high-performance ADC/DAC converter cores for SoC integration, drive design reviews and documentation, and mentor other engineers.

Experience Level

Senior β€” posting specifies 10+ years of CMOS design experience and technical leadership.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead circuit development and evaluate/select circuit architectures for high-speed data converters.
  • Design challenging transistor-level circuits (amplifiers, comparators, switched-capacitor circuits, precision voltage/current references, LDOs).
  • Prepare design documentation and conduct design reviews.
  • Guide and coordinate layout, evaluation, and test engineering teams through tapeout and silicon bring-up.
  • Mentor and develop other design engineers and provide technical leadership.

Requirements

Technical must-haves and preferred skills:

  • Must-have: 10+ years CMOS design experience, with hands-on work on high-speed data converters (pipeline ADC, SAR ADC, current-steering DAC).
  • Must-have: Experience with Cadence schematic capture and SPICE simulation tools and strong transistor-level design skills.
  • Must-have: Proven ability to lead technical efforts, produce effective design documents, and run design reviews.
  • Nice-to-have: Signal processing knowledge related to calibration algorithms; experience using MATLAB for behavioral modeling.
  • Nice-to-have: Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience working in large teams.
