Principal Mixed Signal Design Engineer

Role Summary

Lead the architecture, design, implementation, and validation of advanced mixed-signal and power-management integrated circuits from concept through production. Serve as a technical lead across cross-functional teams including digital design, layout, product engineering, test, and customers.

Experience Level

Senior-level (Principal). The role specifies 15+ years of analog or mixed-signal IC design experience.

Responsibilities

Work across architecture, design, verification, silicon validation, and production release to deliver complex mixed-signal products.

• Lead architecture, transistor-level design, and validation of mixed-signal and power management ICs.
• Design circuits such as DC/DC converters, LDOs, bandgaps/references, current sensing, data converters, comparators, and interface circuitry.
• Develop system and circuit architectures optimizing performance, area, power, cost, and schedule.
• Drive projects from concept through tapeout, characterization, qualification, and production release.
• Perform simulation and verification using Cadence and SPICE-based tools.
• Collaborate with layout engineers to meet silicon performance targets.
• Analyze silicon results, perform root-cause investigations, and implement corrective actions.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and participate in design reviews and customer technical discussions.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience required to perform the role.

• 15+ years of analog or mixed-signal IC design experience.
• Strong understanding of CMOS analog and mixed-signal circuit design.
• Experience designing power management ICs and related analog circuits (DC/DC, LDOs, references, comparators, current sensing, data converters, interface circuitry).
• Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso and SPICE simulation tools.
• Strong debugging and silicon bring-up skills.
• Proven ability to drive projects to production and to lead cross-functional technical efforts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with automotive or industrial semiconductor development.
• Experience leading large mixed-signal product developments and AMS verification methodologies.
• Customer-facing technical experience and a track record of successful production releases.

Education Requirements

BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering.
