Job Title

Principal Mixed-Signal/Analog Design Engineer - Power/ATE

Role Summary

The Instrumentation group seeks a principal-level mixed-signal/analog IC design engineer to lead architecture, circuit design, verification, lab debug, and production release for high-performance mixed-signal ICs and companion DC/DC converters targeted at ATE power management products. The role requires cross-functional collaboration with digital design, layout, test, and verification teams.

Experience Level

Senior level β€” posting specifies 10+ years of relevant experience and expectations of technical leadership.

Responsibilities

Accountable for end-to-end analog/mixed-signal IC development, including design, verification, lab evaluation, and technical leadership.

  • Define architectures and specify circuit blocks; perform system-level analysis to determine optimal implementations.
  • Design and verify highly linear amplifiers, bias circuits, switches, DFX, digital I/O, LDOs, ADCs, and DACs.
  • Oversee analog/mixed-signal ICs from concept through production release; optimize designs for power, performance, and area.
  • Collaborate with digital design and verification teams for block and full-chip integration and system-level verification.
  • Supervise layout activities and run post-layout simulations.
  • Perform lab evaluation and debug; provide test development guidance to evaluation teams.
  • Prepare design documentation and lead technical design reviews.
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and lead engineering efforts across disciplines.
  • Travel up to 10% as required.

Requirements

Core technical skills and professional qualifications required for the role.

  • Deep expertise in analog and mixed-signal circuit design: highly linear amplifiers, bias blocks, switches, DFX, digital I/O, LDOs, ADCs, and DACs.
  • Extensive experience with Cadence design, simulation, layout, and verification tools for analog/mixed-signal designs.
  • Strong transistor-level intuition and analytical skills; familiarity with CMOS device physics, diodes, MIM capacitors, integrated inductors, and implanted resistors.
  • Advanced circuit analysis skills, including awareness of model limitations, high-frequency effects, and temperature behavior.
  • Hands-on lab experience characterizing and debugging mixed-signal designs and interfacing with test teams.
  • Good intuition for package and layout parasitics and experience with extracted simulations.
  • Proven track record of designing and introducing products to production and clear written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership across engineering disciplines on complex products and projects.

Nice-to-have:

  • Analog/digital behavioral modeling and design of digital control blocks and state machines.
  • High-voltage design experience and multi-die/SIP-level laminate expertise.
  • Experience leading teams or projects.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) or equivalent experience required; the posting specifies a Master's in EE with 10+ years of relevant experience and allows equivalent practical experience.
