Principal Memory PHY Architect
Role Summary
Lead the architecture and power modeling of memory PHY IP to deliver power-efficient silicon solutions. You will drive power model creation and optimization, define PHY architecture trade-offs, mentor engineers, and work with large cross-functional teams to ensure integration and delivery.
Experience Level
Senior - 15+ years of relevant engineering experience indicated.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and develop power-efficient memory PHY architectures.
- Create, validate, and optimize power models for memory subsystems.
- Perform power analysis using industry tools and drive power optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, customers) to align requirements and integration.
- Mentor and guide engineering team members; share best practices.
- Evaluate new technologies and propose architectural improvements.
- Support IP integration, verification, and validation efforts.
- Own project outcomes and ensure high-quality deliverables.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- 15+ years in memory PHY architecture and power modeling.
- Expertise with power analysis and modeling tools such as Power Artist and PTPX.
- Strong digital and/or analog design skills and technical leadership experience.
- Proven ability to drive power-model development and take responsibility for project outcomes.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with large, cross-functional teams.
Education Requirements
Required: BSEE or MSEE (Electrical Engineering).
