Principal Hardware System Architect (f/m/d)
Role Summary
Lead translation of customer and standards requirements into SoC architectures and detailed target specifications for connectivity products. Work with marketing, IP vendors, and engineering teams to define low-power, low-cost system solutions.
Primary mission: define and validate system-level architecture, select or derive required IP, and produce objective specifications and plans that enable product feasibility and production.

Responsibilities
Accountabilities and typical activities:
- Translate customer and standards body requirements into SoC architecture and target specifications.
- Define architectural plans for connectivity SoCs focused on lowest power, minimal system size, and low cost.
- Identify and derive new IP blocks; manage external IP selection and vendor relationships.
- Drive feasibility assessments and platform definition for new products.
- Perform system-level performance evaluation and simulation (e.g., bus/cache performance).
- Produce technical documentation: objective specifications, datasheets, verification plans, production test plans.
- Monitor technology and market trends; perform competitive analysis.
Requirements
Key skills, experience, and attributes required or strongly preferred.
- Proven system architect experience in the semiconductor industry, ideally with embedded SoC designs (microcontroller, DSP, RF, mixed-signal).
- Strong background in digital design and system definition/concept engineering.
- Practical understanding of IC design and manufacturing processes.
- System-level expertise in low-power wireless systems and protocols (for example Bluetooth, WiFi).
- Familiarity with embedded software and software architecture considerations for SoCs.
- Experience performing architectural performance evaluation and simulation.
- Ability to analyze complex, partially specified customer requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
- Good communication skills, teamwork, autonomy, and ability to build internal networks across peers and designers.
- Fluency in English.
- Strong analytical skills, creativity, and results drive.
Education Requirements
BSc or MSc in Electronics, Electrical Engineering (EE) or a similar technical field (e.g., Computer Engineering) was specified. Equivalent technical experience in semiconductor system or SoC design is implied by the role requirements.
