Principal GPU HW Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Lead verification activities for GPU components within the PowerVR Hardware Graphics team, owning verification strategy, implementation, and sign-off for a GPU component or subsystem.

Collaborate with design teams to define verification requirements, build UVM/SystemVerilog testbenches, and drive verification closure and metrics reporting.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Specific years of experience are not stated but the role expects proven experience leading verification for complex RTL designs.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning, implementing, and delivering verification for GPU subsystems.

• Own verification activities from initial planning through final sign-off for a GPU component or subsystem.
• Develop verification plans and build/maintain UVM/SystemVerilog testbench components.
• Write tests, sequences, functional coverage, and assertions.
• Monitor, track, and report verification metrics to ensure closure.
• Provide verification-focused feedback during design specification and review discussions.
• Estimate tasks, track progress, and manage multiple verification projects concurrently.
• Lead, mentor, and support team members in verification activities.
• Contribute to the enhancement and evolution of verification methodologies and flows.

Requirements

Must-have skills and technologies:

• Experience developing verification environments for complex RTL designs.
• Deep knowledge of SystemVerilog and UVM; strong constrained-random verification skills.
• Expertise in root-cause analysis and delivering verification closure.
• Familiarity with ASIC design methodologies, flows, and tools.
• Experience planning, estimating, and tracking verification tasks.
• Strong verbal and written technical communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience leading teams.
• Knowledge of GPU, graphics, CPU, or SoC architectures.
• Experience with formal property-based verification (FPV).
• Scripting/coding skills (Python, TCL, Perl, SystemC, C++).
• Understanding of functional safety standards such as ISO26262.
