Principal Engineer, Virtual Prototype Modeling
Role Summary
Develop and verify SystemC/TLM2.0-based virtual prototypes for SoCs and electronic systems to enable embedded software and firmware development. Work with cross-functional firmware, software and hardware teams to create, validate and deploy virtual platforms and related regression tests.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include building and validating virtual prototypes and supporting firmware/software teams.
- Design and implement SystemC/TLM2.0 models for IP blocks, CPUs, caches, interconnects, peripherals, NPU, ISP and full SoC.
- Define transaction-level models for processors, cache controllers, interconnects and peripherals.
- Port operating systems to the virtual prototype and develop device drivers and firmware support.
- Verify models at IP and SoC levels; develop regressable self-checking test suites (C and ARM assembly).
- Create system-level flows and methodologies using virtual prototypes and productionize usage for SW/FW teams.
- Support debugging, validation and effective use of virtual platforms by downstream teams.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, tools experience and working practices.
- 15+ years of hardware engineering experience (senior-level embedded/SoC focus).
- Strong proficiency in C and C++; experience with SystemC and object-oriented design.
- Practical experience developing SystemC/TLM models and creating virtual prototypes for SoC or electronic systems.
- Experience with virtual prototype tools such as ARM Fast Models, Synopsys Virtualizer or Wind River SIMICS.
- Validation skills: bare-metal test development, embedded toolchains, assembly-level debugging and embedded Linux.
- Solid understanding of microprocessors/microcontrollers, SoC architecture, bus protocols, caches, MMU and pipelines.
- Experience working with quality processes, cross-geography teams, and delivering projects on schedule.
- Preferred (nice-to-have): IP-XACT, SystemRDL, SystemC-AMS.
Education Requirements
MTech or BTech in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is specified.
