Job Title

Principal Engineer, Test Engineering - Product Development

Role Summary

Lead test development for China Business Unit products at ADI Philippines, with primary responsibility for GMSL programs on the SPEA platform and technical support across Optical Control and Automotive product families.

Drive test architecture, development, debug, and deployment across development, qualification, and production; improve test methodology and automation; and provide hands-on technical leadership and mentorship.

Responsibilities

Principal responsibilities focus on delivering robust test solutions and resolving complex issues from development through production.

  • Lead design, bring-up, debug, and optimization of hardware and software test solutions for GMSL and related programs from development through production release.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex silicon, hardware, software, and tester issues; perform data-driven root-cause analysis and implement durable corrective actions.
  • Drive improvements in test methodology, automation frameworks, and diagnostic flows to improve yield, reduce test time, and increase first-pass completeness.
  • Provide technical depth in testing high-speed interfaces (GMSL) and implement/optimize on SPEA ATE platforms.
  • Collaborate with design, product engineering, validation, reliability, quality, and manufacturing teams across sites and regions to align priorities and resolve issues.
  • Mentor junior engineers through technical coaching, design reviews, and structured problem solving; communicate tradeoffs and recommendations to regional stakeholders.
  • Support qualification, new product introduction activities, and production readiness reviews.

Requirements

  • Must-have: 10+ years experience in test development, product engineering, validation, or related disciplines in semiconductor product development and manufacturing environments.
  • Must-have: Proven experience in test development on ATE platforms; familiarity with Teradyne UltraFLEX, Eagle ETS, and SPEA is strongly preferred.
  • Must-have: Strong hands-on skills in hardware and software test solution development, debug, and optimization; strong data analysis for yield and test performance.
  • Must-have: Experience with high-speed interface products and supporting Optical Control or Automotive product portfolios.
  • Must-have: Ability to work cross-functionally and across sites/regions; strong written and verbal technical communication skills.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior experience supporting cross-site or cross-regional engineering teams and improving test automation frameworks.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
