Role Summary

The Principal Engineer in the Technology Development Device Characterization group at Micron is responsible for advanced electrical device characterization on innovative memory and storage solutions. This role involves proposing novel test structures, debugging complex measurement issues, and performing data analysis while collaborating with various engineering teams.

Senior level, with 10-15 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities include:

  • Solve complex device problems leveraging subject matter expertise.
  • Define best known methods for device-level measurements.
  • Collaborate with Global Engineering Labs on Tester Infrastructure needs.
  • Accountable for enabling device measurements needed for technology qualification.

Requirements

The position requires the following qualifications:

  • Strong background in solid state physics, semiconductor processing, and characterization.
  • Expertise in operating semiconductor instrumentation including Parameter analyzers, SMU LCR meters, and Oscilloscopes.
  • Knowledge in software tools including Python, C/C++, and Unix/Linux.
  • Deep understanding of device operation in memory systems (NAND, DRAM, PCM).
  • Strong data analytical skills and experience in data automation.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Education Requirements

Masters (M Tech, MS) or Ph.D. in Electrical/Electronics Engineering is required.
