Job Title

Principal Engineer - SOC Verification

Role Summary

Senior verification engineer responsible for architecting and executing end-to-end verification for Arm-based IP, subsystems, and SoCs. The role sits in the Solutions SoC Engineering organization and collaborates with architecture, design, firmware, emulation, FPGA, validation, and post-silicon teams.

Deliver scalable verification environments, drive coverage closure, debug RTL and system-level issues, and contribute to verification methodology and automation improvements.

Experience Level

Senior - Principal-level. The posting specifies 13+ years of IP, subsystem, or SoC verification experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focused on verification strategy, execution, and tooling for complex SoC projects.

  • Develop and execute verification strategies for IP, subsystem, and SoC designs.
  • Verify CPU, PCIe, DDR, security, coherency, memory subsystem, and interconnect functionality.
  • Perform power-aware verification and system scenario / performance validation.
  • Own verification deliverables from planning through closure; ensure quality and schedule commitments are met.
  • Architect, develop, and maintain reusable verification environments, VIP, methodologies, and automation.
  • Create verification plans, test cases, and coverage-closure strategies; drive functional, code, toggle, assertion, and coverage closure.
  • Debug RTL, testbench, integration, and system-level issues and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve them.
  • Leverage scripting, automation, and AI-assisted workflows to improve verification productivity.
  • Contribute to methodology improvements, documentation, and engineering best practices.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required to perform the role.

Must-have:

  • Strong Verilog, SystemVerilog and UVM expertise and modern verification methodologies.
  • Deep RTL/testbench debug skills and coverage-closure practice.
  • Experience with Arm-based SoC concepts: coherency, interconnects, memory hierarchy, and UPF.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting for automation and test infrastructure.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with CHI, ACE, AMBA, PCIe, DDR, or security IP.
  • Assembly programming, formal verification, emulation, FPGA, gate-level simulation, or post-silicon validation experience.
  • Experience with AI-assisted verification workflows and working in globally distributed engineering teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
