Job Title
Principal Engineer / Senior Manager, Digital Design Engineering
Role Summary
Lead SoC execution from specification through silicon, defining technical strategy, architecture, and roadmaps for complex digital systems. Serve as the technical authority across multiple hardware domains and drive delivery of mission-critical SoC products.
Work cross-functionally with design, verification, DFT, physical design, power, software, manufacturing, and program management to achieve first-time-right silicon.
Experience Level
Senior β typically requires 12+ years of relevant semiconductor design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on strategy, architecture, and end-to-end silicon delivery.
- Define long-term product and technology roadmaps for complex SoCs and systems.
- Select IP and evaluate vendor and foundry technology nodes.
- Author and drive top-level SoC architecture including interconnects (NoC), memory hierarchies, power management, and micro-architecture.
- Lead the SoC lifecycle from concept through definition, tape-out, and productization.
- Ensure Power, Performance, Area, and Cost (PPA) targets are met and optimized.
- Govern silicon sign-off activities: synthesis, DFT, constraints, timing closure, and physical design tape-out.
- Coordinate and unify multiple engineering domains (RTL, DV, DFT, PD, Power, SiVal) to meet program goals.
- Manage stakeholders, lead executive decision-making, and mitigate program risks.
Requirements
Core technical skills and leadership capabilities required for the role.
- Proven authority in complex SoC architecture and digital design.
- Track record of shipping complex SoCs and leading tape-out projects to completion.
- Experience in IP evaluation, vendor selection, and foundry/node tradeoffs.
- Deep understanding of PPA optimization and silicon sign-off processes.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to translate business goals into technical strategy; strong business acumen.
- Recognized technical leadership and the ability to influence technology direction.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience. The posting indicates 12+ years of relevant semiconductor design experience is expected.
