Role Summary
Senior engineering role within the R&D Engineering organization in Bengaluru focused on leading technical projects that develop and improve electronic design automation (EDA) software and related tools. The role combines system/algorithm design, software development, cross-team collaboration, and technical leadership.

Senior — typically an experienced engineer with substantial prior engineering and technical leadership experience (commonly 8+ years).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical leadership, hands-on development, and collaboration across product and engineering teams.
- Lead design and architecture of EDA tool features and scalable software systems.
- Develop and optimize algorithms and implementations (performance, memory, scalability).
- Write and review high-quality production code; drive engineering best practices and CI workflows.
- Work with cross-functional teams (product, verification, QA) to define requirements and deliverables.
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers; conduct technical reviews and drive decisions.
- Troubleshoot system-level issues and improve robustness and performance of complex flows.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience for the role; concise and practical.
- Extensive software engineering experience, preferably in EDA or related systems software.
- Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Python and familiarity with system-level tooling on Linux.
- Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, performance optimization, and debugging.
- Proven ability to lead technical projects and mentor other engineers.
- Effective written and verbal communication for collaboration across distributed teams.
- Nice-to-have: experience with placement, routing, timing analysis, or ML applied to EDA domains.
