Principal Engineer, Mixed-Signal Design Engineering
Analog DevicesJob Title
Principal Engineer, Mixed-Signal Design Engineering
Role Summary
Lead the architecture and implementation of high-performance mixed-signal ICs for industrial applications, focusing on clocking, synchronization and receive-path architecture. Join the Industrial Architecture Team to develop monolithic and heterogeneously integrated systems using fine-line CMOS and other process technologies.
Experience Level
Senior-level (Principal). The posting requests approximately 5β10 years of relevant analog design and integration experience.
Responsibilities
Primary technical and architectural responsibilities include:
- Serve as lead architect for clock generation and distribution in advanced mixed-signal ICs for pin electronic testing.
- Design, integrate and debug PLLs.
- Implement multi-GHz clock distribution and multi-chip synchronization.
- Design and optimize phase interpolators and circuits to measure and correct timing errors.
- Contribute to receive-path architecture and subblock specifications (e.g., CTLE, PGA, A/D converter).
- Collaborate with cross-functional development teams to drive product integration and tapeouts.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.
- 5β10 years of analog IC design and integration experience.
- Proven CMOS analog/RF IC design experience with multiple tapeouts.
- Strong knowledge of analog/RF circuits, communications theory (emphasis on wired-link equalization), MOS device modeling, and signal integrity.
- Experience with SerDes-related circuits and measurements.
- Extensive PCB design, troubleshooting and RF measurement experience.
- Demonstrated technical impact (patents, publications, or product leadership) and strong analytical and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
Nice-to-have:
- Prior tapeouts in FinFET technology.
- Strong problem-solving orientation; ability to work collaboratively and proactively within a team.
Education Requirements
PhD required. Relevant fields include Electrical Engineering, Analog/RF, CMOS IC design, Communications, Physics or other related technical disciplines. The posting does not state an equivalence alternative for the degree requirement.
