Job Title

Principal Engineer, Mixed-Signal Design Engineering

Role Summary

Senior mixed-signal IC architect responsible for the clocking and receive-path architecture of high-performance industrial products. Work on monolithic and heterogeneously integrated systems using fine-line CMOS and related process technologies as part of the ADI Industrial Architecture Team.

Collaborate with cross-functional development teams to drive architecture, integration, and debug from concept through silicon tapeout and system-level verification.

Experience Level

Senior level. Posting indicates 5–10 years of relevant analog design and integration experience and expects demonstrated industry leadership.

Responsibilities

Primary technical and leadership responsibilities include:

  • Lead architecture, design, and integration of clock generation and distribution for advanced mixed-signal ICs used in electronic test applications.
  • Design, integrate, and debug PLLs and multi-GHz clock distribution networks.
  • Develop multi-chip synchronization schemes and phase interpolators.
  • Implement circuits to measure and correct timing errors.
  • Contribute to receive-path architecture and subblock specifications (e.g., CTLE, PGA, A/D converter).
  • Coordinate silicon tapeout activities and collaborate on system-level bring-up and RF/PCB measurement troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical leadership, document designs, and mentor engineering team members.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • 5–10 years of analog design and design-integration experience (as stated in the posting).
  • Proven CMOS analog/RF IC design experience with multiple tapeouts.
  • Strong knowledge of analog/RF circuits and systems, MOS device behavior, and signal integrity.
  • Experience with communication theory focused on wired-link equalization and SerDes technologies.
  • Extensive experience in PCB design, RF measurements, and system troubleshooting.

Nice-to-have / preferred:

  • Tapeouts in FinFET technology.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively.

Education Requirements

PhD required. The posting implies relevance to analog/RF and electrical engineering disciplines (e.g., analog/RF engineering, communications or related technical fields). No explicit mention of acceptable equivalent practical experience or alternate degree levels.
