Principal Engineer, Engineering Program Management
Role Summary
IP Program Manager in Central Engineering responsible for planning and delivering SoC/ASIC IP from conception through Mass Production Release (MPR). Works across analog, digital, DFT, layout, timing, validation and PnR disciplines to meet product schedule, quality and stakeholder expectations.
Provides program leadership, risk management, and regular status reporting to executive stakeholders.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Role expects substantial semiconductor industry experience (see Education Requirements for degree-specific guidance); several years of hands-on IP development and program management experience are required.
Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end IP development and delivery for Marvell product lines, emphasizing dependencies, deliverables and schedule integrity.
- Own program management for IP development and delivery to product business units.
- Define and communicate dependencies and deliverables across local skill groups and Central Engineering.
- Drive closure of IP specifications and requirements.
- Chair cross-functional status meetings; provide regular program updates to executive stakeholders.
- Support and enforce Marvell program management processes.
- Provide matrixed leadership of engineering managers across the organization.
- Execute lessons-learned activities and risk management actions.
- Ensure successful outcome of IP development and delivery to production.

- Must-have: Significant hands-on experience in mixed-signal IP design (multiple years) and a broad background in ASIC or microelectronics product development.
- Must-have: Deep knowledge of SoC/IC design flow, advanced process technologies and silicon development methodologies.
- Must-have: Strong cross-functional leadership, stakeholder management, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must-have: Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion and manage program risks.
- Nice-to-have: Several years of experience as an Engineering Project Manager in the semiconductor industry.
- Nice-to-have: Experience as a mixed-signal design manager and prior matrix-management experience of engineering teams.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with formal program management processes and executive reporting.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field is listed; MSEE is preferred. The posting also accepts a Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields.
